1. Universal Orlando announced recently that Passholder Appreciation Days would be returning this summer. The days bring perks and much more for Universal Orlando passholders including discounts and exclusive opportunities throughout the parks, hotels and Universal CityWalk. (Inside The Magic)
2. A 20-year-old man from Polk County was convicted of first-degree murder after he ran over a Polk City librarian with a van in 2020. State Attorney Brian Haas said Elijah Stansell was convicted by a Polk County jury on June 17 of first-degree murder, according to news reports. (WESH)
3. The music industry from Florida, Nashville and others will gather at Ace Café this weekend for the Florida Music Conference in Orlando. The conference runs from 5 p.m. to midnight June 24 and noon to midnight June 25 at 100 West Livingston Street in Orlando. (Subscription: Orlando Sentinel)
4. An arrest has been made for the death of a woman in Altamonte Springs. Xichen Yang, 21, is facing a first-degree murder charge along with a charge of tampering with evidence, according to the Altamonte Springs Police Department. (WESH)
5. Central Florida's Seminole County was ranked among the healthiest communities in the United States by U.S. News & World Report and CVS Health. Seminole came in at No. 441. The list used factors suggested by the National Committee on Vital and Health Statistics. (Tampa Patch)

- Williams of Hollywood, the antique prop shop at Universal Studios Florida, will permanently close down on June 26. Universal said in a statement that the closure is to "make way for a new retail experience." (Spectrum News 13)
- Le-Huu Partners of Orlando have filed plans with the City of Orlando to convert an 18.3-acre site on the shores of Lake Fairview into a mixed-use development with apartments, condos, retail and more. (Bungalower)
- Pet shops in Orange County are now banned from selling dogs, cats and rabbits. Orange County Government Animal Services will begin conducting inspections of the stores this week to ensure compliance with the new ordinance. (Fox 35 Orlando)
- Orange County leaders, including Mayor Jerry Demings, marked the grand opening of a new senior affordable housing community in Pine Hills on Wednesday at Hawthorne Park. According to Hawthorne Park, rent for a one-bedroom unit is $876 per month and rent for a two-bedroom unit is $1,045 per month. (Click Orlando)
