Former Rep. Matt Gaetz Joins Cameo, Hints At FL Governor Run
After sexual misconduct claims forced Matt Gaetz to withdraw as the attorney general pick, he joined Cameo and hinted at FL political plans.

FLORIDA — Days after withdrawing as President-elect Donald Trump’s pick for U.S. attorney general, former U.S. Rep. Matt Gaetz is moving on quickly. The ex-Congressman from Florida is now selling personal videos to fans on Cameo, starting at $500 each, and also offering clues to his next political steps on social media.
The Florida Republican, who removed himself from consideration for Trump’s administration amid growing scrutiny over sexual misconduct allegations, is already hinting that he could run for state governor in 2026.
When Florida State Rep. Anthony Sabatini predicted in a post to X, formerly Twitter, on Saturday, that Gaetz “will be the next Governor of the State of Florida,” Gaetz reposted it with a GIF of the state flag waving.

There have also been some questions about whether Gaetz might also consider running for the House seat he left behind or lobbying for the U.S. Senate seat about to open up once Marco Rubio resigns to become Trump’s secretary of state, the New York Post said.
Before he finalizes any decisions about campaigns, Gaetz is offering paid videos to fans on Cameo, an app that lets users pay for custom video messages for a range of celebrities from former Trump fix Michael Cohen and ex-Congressman George Santos to New York Yankees manager Aaron Boone and NSYNC singer Lance Bass.
“Whether it’s a milestone birthday, an anniversary, or a long-awaited reunion, make it unforgettable with a one-of-a-kind Cameo video from Matt Gaetz. You’ll have the chance to customize your request for Matt Gaetz, like asking them to mention inside jokes, share words of wisdom, or work in their signature catchphrases,” according to his Cameo profile. “Don’t be afraid to get creative with your request, especially for celebrations like weddings, retirements, or bachelor and bachelorette parties that call for a good laugh. No matter the occasion, the video will be yours to keep — share the fun and relive the moment for years to come.
Gaetz announced his decision last week to withdraw from consideration as U.S. attorney general on social media, saying he did not want his confirmation to become a "distraction" for the incoming Trump administration.
"I remain fully committed to (seeing) that Donald J. Trump is the most successful President in history," Gaetz said. "I will forever be honored that President Trump nominated me to lead the Department of Justice and I'm certain he will Save America."
Trump on Thursday tapped another Florida supporter, former Florida Attorney General Pam Bondi, to lead the Justice Department. Bondi has been an outspoken defender of Trump.
She was one of his lawyers during his first impeachment trial, when Trump was accused — but not convicted — of abusing his power as he tried to condition U.S. military assistance to Ukraine on that country investigating then-former Vice President Joe Biden. And Bondi was among a group of Republicans who showed up to support Trump at his New York hush money criminal trial that ended in May with a conviction on 34 felony counts.
