1. The Thornton Park Main Street is hosting a special block party called "The Cinco on the Street – Cinco de Mayo Street Party" on Thursday, May 5, for Cinco de Mayo, from 3 p.m. to 11 p.m. The event will feature drink specials, local food deals, and live entertainment for all to enjoy. Tickets are $10 in advance and $20 the day of the event and include two complimentary drinks. (Bungalower)

2. Orange County Mayor Jerry Demings says a plan by Governor Ron DeSantis and Republicans to end Disney's special governance in Reedy Creek would be "catastrophic" for Orange County residents and the budget that funds services to citizens including water, sewer, electric power and public safety. 3. A man was killed early Thursday after he was ejected from his car during a crash and run over by a sport utility vehicle on State Road 528 in Orange County, according to the Florida Highway Patrol. The fatal wreck happened at around 4:30 a.m. on eastbound S.R. 528 near Universal Boulevard. (Click Orlando)

4. A bride and a caterer were arrested after it was discovered food served at a wedding in Florida was laced with marijuana and several guests required medical attention or reported feeling effects from the drug, according to Seminole County court records. The bride, 42-year-old Danya Shea Svoboda, and caterer, 31-yea-old Joycelyn Montrinice Bryant, are charged with culpable negligence, delivery of marijuana and violating the state's Anti-Tampering Act. 5. The Orlando International Airport (MCO) has announced an opening date for the new Terminal C. International flights will start on September 19, while domestic flights will start on September 26. The project cost $2.75 billion and will add new features including automated screening lanes at TSA and facial recognition for international flights. (Fox 35 Orlando)
