1. Orange County Public Schools may stop requiring students to wear masks next month. The district sent out a notification Monday that their final meeting of October would not include a proposal to extend the mask mandate. (Orlando Weekly)

2. Embattled Orlando attorney Justin Infurna has been permanently disbarred by the Florida Supreme Court. Complaints included that he accepted payment and did not follow through in court. Clients who feel they may be affected by this were urged to contact the Florida Bar’s Client Security Fund for possible, partial reimbursement. (Click Orlando)
3. The Florida Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services has reported 7 safety incidents at Orlando area theme parks for the period of July through September of 2021. The report is released every three months from the agency and includes injuries and illnesses. (WFTV)
4. Florida Surgeon General Dr. Joseph Ladapo, a top health official in the state, refused to wear a face mask when meeting with a state senator recently diagnosed with breast cancer in her office. Ladapo was recently appointed to the position by Governor Ron DeSantis. Senate President Wilton Simpson (R-Trilby) sent a memo Saturday night criticizing what occurred and numerous Democrats have now condemned the encounter. (Patch Tallahassee)
5. The Downtown Orlando Community Redevelopment Area is launching a new program to help downtown businesses called the Sidewalk Café Incentive Program (SCI Program). The funding is determined on a first-come, first-served basis. (Bungalower)
