1. The owner behind Mason Jar Provisions has found a new home in Winter Park at 221 W. Fairbanks Avenue. They plan to take on the space as soon as September 1. The concept will be reworked as "The Hen and Hog" with a number of Mason Jar menu items crossing over. (Bungalower)
2. A man who works in downtown Orlando commented on the shooting last weekend and said "We are used to this situation at this point now." Increased security measures will be enforced this weekend in response to last weekend's incident. (Click Orlando)
3. The three Democrats running to be the next Florida attorney general and replace Attorney General Ashley Moody debated Thursday night in Orlando at Barry University. One problem at the top of their last is gun violence, crime, and mental illness. The primary is Tuesday, August 23. (WESH)
4. An Orlando man who was arrested last year in Volusia County after a 13-year-old girl was rescued from him will spend over 40 years in prison for dozens of child sex crimes. 24-year-old Tyler Thompson will be designated as a sexual predator as well. (WFTV)
5. Mad Cow Theatre is being sued by City of Orlando for allegedly stealing thousands of dollars worth of city equipment from their space when they were evicted. The city claims more than $30,000 worth of equipment was taken. (Orlando Weekly)
