1. Theme-park giant Walt Disney World has vowed to help repeal the "Don't Say Gay" bill pushed by Florida Republicans into law and signed by Governor Ron DeSantis. DeSantis says Disney has "crossed the line" as several groups file a lawsuit to challenge the "Don't Say Gay" law aimed at schools. He has vowed to punish the company, also one of the top political campaign contributors in the state. The news comes after protesters for weeks have demanded Disney oppose the bill. (Orlando Patch)

2. NASA Administrator and Former Senator Bill Nelson met with former astronauts in Orlando Friday for a discussion about the future of space exploration. The meeting came as NASA’s Artemis 1 rocket is planning an unmanned test flight later this year. (Click Orlando)

3. An Orange County deputy was indicted by a grand jury on Thursday for a 2020 deputy-involved shooting. Deputy Bruce Stolk is accused of shooting Edenilson Urbina. Deputies said the shooting happened following a traffic stop for an illegal tag on December 20, 2020, near the intersection of Kingsgate and Oak Ridge Road. (WFTV)

4. A protestor at Icon Park widely reported to be Tyre Sampson's cousin is entirely unknown to Sampson's family. Orange County Sheriff's Office reps shared that Sampson's mother has no connection to the protester, who gave quotes to reporters and held signs demanding justice at the park while wearing a shirt bearing Sampson's likeness. 5. A Lake Nona woman is recovering from a concussion after she said a piece of debris fell from Interstate 4 and hit her in the head on March 22. Laurie O’Toole said she and her husband were heading to a Magic game in downtown Orlando when the incident happened. She said they filed an injury claims report with the Florida Department of Transportation and are hoping to see change and get results. (Click Orlando)

  • Florida residents can now book their second COVID-19 booster shots. Local grocery stores such as Winn Dixie and Fresco y Mas are opening appointments for a fourth shot for people 12 years and older who are immunocompromised. They are also welcoming anyone 50 years and over who received their last booster at least four months prior. (WSVN)
  • The City of Kissimmee is joining mayors across the country in asking residents to take or renew their pledges to manage water resources more wisely. (Twitter)
