1. City of Orlando granted approval to Wall Street Plaza for outdoor stage and loudspeaker use for the first time since the pandemic began. The Plazaween is happening this weekend in downtown Orlando and crowds are expected to show their spirit. (Bungalower)

2. Volusia County police said a pizza-eating man, 38-year-old Dewey Smith, is accused of breaking into 2 cars in Deltona. Officials say Smith left red sauce on a door handle of one vehicle and a pizza box with plates near the second. When they found him, officials say the accused man said, “you got me red-handed.” (WFTV)

3. 23 CarMax stores in Florida are seeking workers in positions such as service technicians, customer service, and technology support. The effort is part of a nationwide hiring push. Those interested can apply online now. Select locations are offering sign-on bonuses of up to $2,000 and an additional $1,500 bonus for bilingual hires. (Patch Tampa)

4. Orange County Mayor Jerry Demings allowed the county's state of emergency to expire on Wednesday due to a drop in COVID-19 cases. The mayor said he reserves the right to reinstate the mandate if COVID-19 levels start to rise again. (Fox 35 Orlando)

5. Brevard County restaurants received more than $24 million from the federal restaurant Relief Fund. The aid passed by Congress helped 120 businesses get back on track from pandemic-related losses, but was not without its problems. (Click Orlando)
