1. Pointe Orlando will debut a new, weekly pop-up Sunset Market featuring goods made from local businesses and artisans on Friday, May 6 from 6 p.m. to 10 p.m. As an extra incentive during the month of May, the first 50 guests to spend a minimum of $15 at the Sunset Market will receive a complimentary parking voucher from the Market Information Booth valid for self-parking in the Pointe Orlando garage. 2. A woman in her 30s was taken into custody early Sunday morning by Orange County deputies after a six-hour standoff in an Orlando McDonald's. Officials said she had fired a handgun and made threatening statements. (Click Orlando)

3. A massive first-alarm fire erupted at an environmental recycling plant in Central Florida's Apopka early Saturday morning illuminating the sky in orange and yellow hues, and sent smoke high into the air. The fire sparked at around 3 a.m. at the Raynor Shine Environmental Recycling Services where firefighters found about two acres of recycled mulch and brush on fire, according to the Apopka Fire Department. 4. The major attraction that takes Universal Orlando Resort guests between Universal Studios Florida and Universal’s Islands of Adventure, The Hogwarts Express, will not be available for many parkgoers in June. Universal announced on its website that the Hogwarts Express will be closed from June 9 through June 18 while undergoing maintenance. (Inside The Magic)

5. The annual Paws for Peace Walk was held Saturday morning at Blue Jacket Park. Hundreds of residents and their pups gathered to raise money and awareness for Harbor House of Central Florida. Orange County Sheriff John Mina and Orlando Mayor Buddy Dyer also came out to show their support during the event. (WFTV)
