Orange Ball Drop returns to Thornton Park for New Year's Eve in Orlando (wesh.com) — Orlando’s Orange Ball Drop returns to Thornton Park tonight with street closures starting at 3 p.m., a single-entry street party, and heightened security including off-duty officers and metal detectors. Bars and restaurants are teaming up with the city and Florida Citrus Sports to host thousands of revelers, with tickets starting at $35 and rising to $40 at the gate.
