1. Salt & Straw is bringing its small-batch ice cream to Disney Springs Orlando after the successful opening at Downtown Disney District at Disneyland Resort in Anaheim, California. The shop will open on Wednesday, April 20 and the first 100 customers will receive a free scoop of ice cream on opening day. (WFTV)
2. The Ocoee City Commission has given a K-8 charter school approval to expand to the high school level. Innovation Montessori Ocoee is now authorized to use the 4.32-acre property located at 1475 E. Silver Star Road for a two-story high school. (West Orange Times & Windermere Observer)
3. Orlando area State Rep. Anthony Sabatini wants backing from Florida lawmakers to hold a special legislative session about a "constitutional carry" gun proposal. Under state law, Sabatini would have to get 20 percent of the Legislature, or 32 members, to file letters of support for a special session with the Department of State. (Orlando Weekly)
4. Orlando's iconic Foxtail Coffee Co. is expanding its original location in Winter Park and taking over three other retail storefronts in the same building to create a new multi-brand concept. The new concept will be called the "Winter Park Social House." (Bungalower)
5. The Osceola County Sheriff's Office announced Tuesday that 38-year-old Juan Pablo Monterroso-Morataya was arrested Monday and charged with 21 counts of lewd and lascivious molestation on a victim under 12 years old, four counts of showing obscene material to a minor, and one count of sexual battery.
