Here are the top stories in Orlando today:

1. More than 61,000 Florida residents have died of COVID-19 since the pandemic started in early 2020, according to a report released last weekend by Florida Department of Health. 3,677,968 COVID-19 cases have been reported in Florida since the pandemic started. (Orlando Weekly)

2. A federal judge quickly rejected Florida’s request to block a Biden administration requirement that workers at hospitals, nursing homes and other health-care providers be vaccinated against COVID-19. The judge wrote Florida had not shown "irreparable harm" to justify an injunction or temporary restraining order. (Fox 13 Tampa)

3. Target will no longer open its stores on Thanksgiving Day, making permanent a shift to the unofficial start of the holiday season that was suspended during the pandemic. The move could lead to other retailers joining the superstore. Target began opening its stores on Thanksgiving a decade ago to compete with emerging online giants such as Amazon as a way to kick off Black Friday sales. (Click Orlando)

4. For the first time in the 66-year history of Disney theme parks, visitors will see Black Santa Clauses at the parks this year including at Walt Disney World Resort in Lake Buena Vista. It is part of a change that is now happening nationwide with major brands such as Old Navy participating. (Patch Florida)

5. 3 people were hurt in an overnight shooting in Orlando early Monday morning near TrustCo Bank. Investigators say an argument between two groups led to the shooting between two individuals. Police are seeking more information. (WESH)
