1. Universal Orlando is expanding its hiring efforts, searching for more than 5,000 new team members for full-time, part-time, seasonal and professional career opportunities. Universal Orlando will be hosting an open call in-person job fair on Thursday, May 5 for all park hourly positions including attractions, aquatics, food services, culinary, custodial, warehouse, operations, merchandise, sales, and more. 2. A former battalion chief with Orange County Fire Rescue is suing over what he claims was an "unlawful termination" for insubordination amid a now voided vaccine mandate for county employees. Stephen Davis was fired in October 2021 after he refused to discipline and issue written warnings to firefighters who failed to comply with Orange County's vaccine mandate for county employees. 3. Fourth Watch, a Georgia real estate entertainment development company, is suing OHL for breach of contract and CPR for tortious interference with a contract, according to court documents. According to Fourth Watch, the opposing parties reneged on a 2017 contract and gave hundreds of acres to Universal Orlando instead. (Florida Politics)

4. UCF police department said a suspect accused in a shooting at the downtown UCF campus earlier this month was arrested Friday. Orlando police identified the alleged shooter as 19-year-old Careem Pryce. Police are accusing Pryce of shooting at three people outside UCF student housing in downtown Orlando on April 17, after he followed them from a bar, according to police. (WESH)

5. A federal judge in Orlando ruled Friday that the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention properly mandated masks for airline passengers, a contrary decision to an order issued by a federal judge in Tampa less than two weeks ago. (Florida Politics)
