1. Dos Hombres owners and Breaking Bad Stars Bryan Cranston and Aaron Paul are hosting a bottle signing event at the Liquor Library and Wine Market in Orlando on Wednesday, May 4, from noon to 2 p.m., just in time for Cinco De Mayo. (Orlando Weekly)
2. This week is National Infant Immunization Week, and the Florida Department of Health in Orange County is promoting the benefits of immunizations for children from birth to two years old. A Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) report released in 2020 showed a significant drop in childhood vaccinations due to the COVID-19 pandemic. (WFTV)
3. Kwame Boakye, the owner of the popular fried chicken restaurant Chicken Fire, has opened a new concept just south of downtown Orlando called That Wing Spot. The new restaurant is located at 4777 S. Orange Avenue in Fort Gatlin Plaza. (Bungalower)
4. The parents of a 14-year-old boy who fell to his death from the Free Fall ride at Icon Park on March 24 are suing the ride owner, ride manufacturer, construction contractor and ICON Park, which is the landlord of the property where the ride was operated. The lawsuit filed in the 9th Circuit court in Orange County seeks in excess of $30,000 in damages under Florida’s Wrongful Death Act, seeking damages on behalf of Tyre Sampson’s family, for pain and suffering, and loss of future earnings. 5. Petal the poodle, the Orlando dog who survived torturous abuse and went on to be adopted into a loving family, has passed away. Poodle and Pooch Rescue of Florida, who were involved in Petal's rescue last year, informed the public about the passing from the family on Friday. (Fox 35 Orlando)
