Here are the top five stories in Orlando today:
1. Two people were arrested on Sunday after their car sped near a holiday parade in Winter Garden, causing an accident with another vehicle, according to the Winter Garden Police Department. 27-year-old Terryus Jorelle Baker and 24-year-old Elizabeth Chavez both had warrants for their arrest prior to the incident. 2. Orlando Red Cross is sending help to Kentucky after a devastating tornado killed dozens and tore apart a candle factory, nursing home, and collapsed an Amazon warehouse. Disaster-aid and humanitarian groups are working to help those in need and donations are being requested. (Fox 35 Orlando)
3. A Central Florida substitute teacher at Lakeland High School is accused of sexually battering a student. 20-year-old Ayanna Davis admitted she had unprotected sex with a student at least four times. A Snapchat video of Davis having sex with a student was reported to police and shown to other students, according to Polk County Sheriff’s Office. (WESH)
4. Orlando Police Chief Orlando Rolón has hinted he may retire in 2022. During a speech Saturday Rolón said, “The way my retirement program is structured, it will very likely yield for me to have to retire at the end of next year.” (WFTV)
5. Macy's has not yet said where the 10 stores slated to be shuttered are located, leaving questions about the fate of the remaining stores in Florida. The retailer said it is reconsidering when it will close the remaining 60 stores because online sales do better in areas where there is a physical Macy's store. (Patch Florida)
