1. Hadassah Orlando is presenting internationally recognized author and theatrical producer Yvonne David at its May 3 monthly in-person meeting at 11:30 a.m. at Congregation Ohev Shalom, at 613 Concourse Parkway South, Maitland, FL 32751. (Orlando Patch)

2. Walt Disney World is preparing to open its new Connections Cafe & Eatery inside EPCOT and announced the restaurant’s opening date of April 27 on its website Friday. The restaurant features a cafe and pastry shop on one side and an eatery serving lunch and dinner menus on the other. Menu items include a French Bistro Burger, Bahn Mi Burger, General Tso Chicken Salad, Curry Spice Pizza, and more. (Click Orlando)

3. The City of Orlando celebrated Earth Day outside of City Hall on Friday. Orlando Mayor Buddy Dyer and other community members hosted the event to educate residents about City Beautiful's sustainability initiatives, including zero waste, clean energy, transportation and water. (WFTV)

4. A state agency voted in favor of building a toll road through parts of Orange and Osceola counties in Central Florida on Wednesday. Visitors to Split Oak Forest described it as an untouched paradise in the middle of heavy development, but that is set to be disrupted now. Friends of Split Oak Forest says they believe the effort will be challenged. (WESH)

5. Orlando Pride has launched a new kit to honor the soccer team and the Space industry in Central Florida. The new Pride jersey comes in stark white and commemorates the 50th anniversary of the last lunar landing. The new jersey will be used as a secondary kit for their upcoming season that kicks off on Sunday, May 1. (Orlando Weekly)
