Kat is Good at Fetching, Philosopher is Sweet and Affectionate
Palm Harbor Patch is proud to help the Suncoast Animal League find forever homes for these great pets.

Dog of the Week: "Kat" is Learning to be Quite Good at Fetching a Ball
Kat is a 2 to 3 year-old, 32 lb. border collie/flat-coated retriever-mix rescued from Alabama.
Before she came to the Suncoast Animal League, Kat had spent a whole year at the Alabama shelter and was showing signs that the stress of being confined for that long was affecting her mentally. Her time was up and she was scheduled to be euthanized until we stepped in.
Kat has been in a foster home for the past month and this very special girl is now ready for adoption to the right person.

Whether it's a nice walk for exercise, curling up on the couch to watch TV, sitting at the computer to do your work or messing around on Facebook, that's where you will find Kat, because for this dog, you will be the best person in the world. She's very grateful to have been rescued and shows you constantly.
Kat also loves a good run in the yard with her doggie buddies in her foster home. She has lots of energy to play and will need a fenced yard. She rarely barks, unless she feels the need to protect her yard or home and then with a quick, "Thank you, I've got this" she'll stop. Kat loves toys of all kinds and is learning to be quite good at fetching a ball. She will sit nicely for a treat and come when you call because she wants to please you.
So why did she need to spend so much time in foster? Although she likes women and children, our little Kat seems to have had some negative experiences with men in her past. She is suspicious of them and does not trust them at all when she first meets one. Through some work in her foster home, she now warms up to them if they talk sweetly to her and give her some treats. For this reason, we are looking for a home for Kat with a single woman or couple who can take the time to continue to socialize her, so that she will continue to learn to be more comfortable in the community. Kat bonds quickly with one person and that person will be her everything.
Is devoted Kat the dog for you? She is in a foster home so call the Suncoast Animal League at 727-786-1330 to make an appointment to meet her or talk to her foster mom.
Cat of the Week: "Philosopher" is a Sweet, Affectionate Girl
Philosopher is a stunning 2-year-old long-haired tortoiseshell kitty. She's looking for a new home because her owner moved into an apartment where pets aren't allowed.
Philosopher hasn't said much about which school of thought she subscribes to, but we do know that she is a sweet, affectionate girl who would love to have a new, loving family. She has the softest, fluffiest fur and a wonderful personality.
She likes calm children, dogs and other cats. She has been spayed, micro-chipped and is up-to-date on her shots.
