New Executive Consultant Joins Palm Harbor Historical Society

Colin Bissett has over 30 years experience of senior level executive management in nonprofit arts institutes in the United Kingdom and the USA.

The Palm Harbor Historical Society (PHHS) announced that Colin Bissett has been named as its new Executive Consultant.  Bissett will be responsible for developing new strategic marketing concepts to improve attendance; development needs and create sustainability for the organization.

Colin Bissett has over 30 years experience of senior level executive management in nonprofit arts institutes in the United Kingdom and the USA.

Sallie Parks, Past PHHS President, said, “We are extremely grateful and pleased to have Colin on board. Colin has an excellent background of turning around struggling organizations and will help us identify new and different funding sources while further developing our membership base and expand our visitor capabilities.”

Bissett is the founding director of the Largo Music Festival (Largo, FL), World Music Festival, 10 X 10 Play Festival, African American Play Festival, (Carrboro, NC), and the Steamtown Marathon, (Scranton, PA).

He spearheaded two major capital campaigns that raised $5 million each for the State Theatre in Easton, PA and Scranton Cultural Center in Scranton PA. Bissett served as Executive Director for the Mahaffey Theater Foundation, Scranton Cultural Center, the State Theatre, the ArtsCenter, (Carrboro NC), and Carolina Ballet, (Raleigh, NC). Bissett is an arts consultant based in Palm Harbor. Recent clients include Creative Clay, (St. Petersburg, FL), and Anna Maria Island Art League (Anna Maria Island, FL).

The Palm Harbor Historical Society a 501 ( c ) ( 3 ) nonprofit organization, is dedicated to preserving, interpreting and sharing the heritage of Palm Harbor and surrounding communities such as Crystal Beach, Eastlake, Ozona and Wall Spring. It also operates the North Pinellas Historical Museum located at the corner of Curlew and Belcher Roads.
