Palm Harbor University High (PHUH) freshman Michelle Yongue is one of three students in the Pinellas County School system honored with a Young Heroes award for their efforts during the fall semester. Each of the students received a $500 savings bond <a href="http://vimeo.com/60684394" rel="nofollow" target="_blank">(watch the video)</a>. The award is given to students in grades K-12 who "give tirelessly of themselves through community service or who have inspired others through their deeds and strength of character," according to the school district's website. Yongue is a vision student who helps younger visually-impaired students by volunteering at elementary schools and summer vision camps. She also tutors students with braille and serves as a mentor for visually-impaired students.
