Escambia County Government: West Desoto Street To Close For Construction

Beginning March 10 at 7 a.m., West Desoto Street will be closed to through traffic from North "Z" Street to Grandview Street. Closures are necessary so crews may install new sewers in the neighborhood. This is a four-month long project.

During this time, traffic will be detoured to West Gonzalez Street. The detour is expected to remain in effect until until July 6, 2022, at which time the roads will be clear for all traffic to pass through. If other roadway closures are necessary, another notice will be issued.

A formal Maintenance of Traffic (MOT) Plan was submitted and approved by the Escambia County Engineering Department. Ryan Rice, ACME Barricade, was responsible for submittal of the approved MOT Plan and has a valid certificate for Advanced MOT training.
