Nesting Season: Watch Out for Black Skimmers on Beach

According to authorities, harassing the birds, the eggs or their young is punishable for up to 60 days in prison.

Through Aug. 31 it is Black Skimmer bird nesting season on the beaches. 

Sections of the St. Pete Beach and other Gulf beaches are roped off to protect the birds and their eggs.
