Six Cars Broken Into at Treasure Island Hotel, Condo
Police say 28-year-old Michael Morris used a cinder block and a knife to break into cars of the Bilmar Beach Resort and Palms of Treasure Island Condominium.

Treasure Island Police have arrested and charged 28-year Michael Morris with six counts of burglary after he allegedly broke into six vehicles located in the parking lots of the Palms of Treasure Island Condominium and the Bilmar Beach Resort.Â
Police said Morris, however, has no recollection of the alleged crimes.Â
"The defendant was taken into custody and gave a false name," the arrest affidavit read. "The defendant later advised he was drunk and has no memory of what he may have done."

According to the affidavit, Morris broke into a 2013 Mazda CX-5, a 2009 Chevy truck and 2010 Honda using a large folding knife at the Bilmar.Â
Police say when they arrested Morris, the knife had "various pry marks."

From one of the vehicles at the Bilmar, police said Morris stole an underwater camera, radar detector and nails clippers, among other items.Â
From the auxiliary parking lot of the Bilmar, police were able to track Morris to 10315 Gulf Blvd, which is the address of the Palms of Treasure Island Condominiums.
At the Palm of Treasure Island, Morris allegedly used a 6-inch square of concrete to smash the windows of a 2012 Nissan Altima, a 2008 Infiniti SUV and a 2002 Dodge Ram pickup before police could arrive.Â
Police said Morris stole a three fishing rods and reels from the bed of the pickup. Â
At the Bilmar, police arrested Morris and recovered the stolen items. Police say the burglaries occurred April 14 between 1:30 and 2:15 a.m.
Morris, who is listed as a transient, has been charged with six counts of burglary, possession of marijuana, petit theft and grand theft. He is currently awaiting trial on a $70,150 bond. Â
