Today, June 7, is National Doughnut Day. Doughnut makers across the U.S. are celebrating by giving away their fried dessert rings to customers.
Now when will someone invent a carb-free, sugar-free doughnut? That will get customers through the doors!

Dunkin’ Donuts offers a free doughnut with any purchase of a drink, whether it's coffee, a latte or soda. Although it's not free, the doughnut chain also introduces today the Glazed Donut Breakfast Sandwich. The heart-stopping sanwich is a sugary glazed doughnut sliced with a fried egg and bacon in the center.

St. Pete Bagel is giving away its custom-crafted gourmet doughnuts. You have to make a purchase to receive one of these scrumptious desserts. But this locally owned shop offers doughnuts like you've never experienced. The shop is at 7043 4th St. North, St. Petersburg.
Krispy Kreme is giving away any flavor doughnut at participating locations. You don't even have to make a purchase. Click here to find a store near you. (Closest stores are in Brandon, Palm Harbor and Tampa.)
Tim Hortons' customers get a free doughnut with a purchase today. But you will need to first print a Facebook coupon and bring it with you. The only location in the Tampa Bay area is at the Tampa Bay Arena, 401 Channelside Dr., Tampa.)
