67-Year-Old Man Fatally Struck By Car Crossing North Alexander Street

Plant City police said the man was trying to cross between West Baker Street and Thonotosassa Road where there is no crosswalk.

PLANT CITY, FL — A 67-year-old man was killed after being struck by a car Friday morning.

According to Plant City police, at 10:30 a.m., the man was trying to cross North Alexander Street between West Baker Street and Thonotosassa Road where there are no crosswalks.

The man entered the southbound lanes from the median and was struck by a 2012 Dodge Challenger, driven by a 46-year-old Plant City man, said police.

Plant City Fire Rescue responded and pronounced the 67-year-old dead at the scene. The driver remained at the scene and cooperated with police.
