Family Fun Day Planned At Keel Farms For Military Families, Veterans

PLANT CITY, FL — Keel Farms will host Camaraderie Foundation’s first Family Fun Day of 2023 Saturday, Jan. 28 from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the farm at 5202 Thonotosassa Road in Plant City.

Those attending will enjoy tour trolleys of the farm and its winery, watch the kids pick their own strawberries, pet the friendly farm animals, bounce in the Rockin Bouncie House, listen to the music of a DJ, have an adult beverage at the farm bar and then enjoy a complimentary lunch and drink courtesy of Keel Farms and the Camaraderie Foundation.

"We are tremendously excited to partner with the Camaraderie Foundation and the Plant City Chamber of Commerce to offer veterans and their families a fun and exciting day on our farm. The Camaraderie Foundation's goal to build a community network of support and provide relevant resources for veterans is directly in line with the Keel Farms values of quality, sustainability and, most importantly, community."

Camaraderie Foundation, founded in 2009 and headquartered in Orlando, hosts family fun days throughout the year in Orlando and Tampa to raise awareness of its mission to heal the invisible wounds of war by providing no-cost and confidential mental, emotional and spiritual counseling, transitional services, and family support for all military service members, veterans and their families.

Feelings of isolation and separation anxiety are key factors hindering a veteran's return to civilian life. Family fun days bring together a community of veterans and their families to support each other and reconnect.
