Plant City Convicted Felon Headed To Prison After Found With Firearms
He initially told the officers that they would have to shoot him when he pulled his firearm out. He eventually surrendered without incident.
TAMPA, FL — U.S. District Judge James Moody Jr. has sentenced Christian Joel Andujar Rivera, 25, of Tampa to four years and four months in federal prison, to be followed by three years of supervised release for being a felon in possession of firearms.
The court also ordered him to forfeit a Glock firearm and assorted ammunition associated with the offense. Andujar Rivera pleaded guilty on Feb. 2.
According to court documents, in June, Andujar Rivera was wanted on a felony charge of fleeing and eluding police. On June 13, the United States Marshal Service Fugitive Apprehension Unit found him at his home in Plant City and, when police attempted to arrest him, he stood at the top of the stairs of his home with his hands concealed behind his back and refused to obey their commands to surrender. He told the officers that they would have to shoot him when he pulled his firearm out. He eventually surrendered without incident.

After a search of the home, police said they found nine firearms and large amounts of ammunition.
As a multi-convicted felon, Andujar Rivera is prohibited from possessing firearms or ammunition under federal law.
