Alsdorf Boat Launch: New Parking Pass Considered by Pompano Beach (tapinto.net) — Pompano Beach is considering a new annual parking pass for vehicles with trailers using the North lot at Alsdorf Park, the county’s busiest boat ramp. The proposal is bundled with a 20% citywide parking rate hike and a larger resident discount, with revenue earmarked for new parking infrastructure through the city’s Parking Enterprise Fund.

Commission Vote Clears Way for City's First 'Freestanding Emergency Room' (tapinto.net) — Pompano Beach commissioners have tentatively approved a zoning text change that would allow freestanding emergency rooms, clearing the way for HCA Florida Northwest’s planned facility at the former Diamond Strike site on North Federal Highway. The 4–1 vote restores stricter rules for urgent-care centers while permitting off-campus ERs in B-3 commercial zones, with a final public hearing and vote still to come.
3. Gutierrez Unveils 2026 Beach Volleyball Schedule (gofrogs.com) — TCU’s 2026 beach volleyball schedule includes a return trip to Pompano Beach for the FAU-hosted Pompano Tournament, where the Horned Frogs went 6–0 last year. The defending national champions will be the only non-Florida team in that field, facing programs like Florida Atlantic and Florida State as part of a packed national slate.
4. Virginia church rallies behind Iranian-born sisters seized by immigration agents for deportation (episcopalnewsservice.org) — Two Iranian-born sisters seeking asylum are currently being held at the Broward Transitional Center in Pompano Beach while their Virginia church community fights for their release. Their attorney argues they followed U.S. asylum rules and should not be detained, and church leaders are coordinating pastoral visits and public support as a court hearing moves forward in Florida.
