3rd Friday Was A Hit Despite Foul Weather Late

Hundreds of visitors packed Main Street for the Renaissance Fair edition of 3rd Friday.

The biggest 3rd Friday of the year lived up to its billing, at least until heavy rain swept through downtown Safety Harbor, sending revelers scrambling for cover and cutting short what was shaping up to be a perfect evening.

Still, the turnout for the monthly event was impressive. The popular theme of a Renaissance Fair had people of all ages strolling around Main Street, some dressed in full period attire.

And there was a large variety of animals around, too, including dogs, birds, snakes and even a pony.

While the sudden storm did bring the festivities to an abrupt halt, many guests took shelter in the open bars and restauarants, while some just ran the streets in the rain, like they used to do in the ye good ole days.
