Bayshore Construction Moves to Next Phase
The stormwater drainage project has shifted to the intersection of Main Street and Philippe Parkway.
Phase II of the Bayshore Boulevard drainage project has officially begun, with construction shifting from the north end of Bayshore to the intersection of Main Street and Philippe Parkway.
According to city officials, the bulk of the work should be complete in November.
"We hope to have Main and South Bayshore open by October 31st," City Manager Matt Spoor said. "After that they move to the Marina for the final phase."

He said weather and other issues caused some delays in the project, which began in September in the area between the Safety Harbor Resort and Spa and Iron Age Road.
"Finishing South Bayshore couldn't occur any sooner,” he added. "I want the project done yesterday, but it takes time and patience for such a large complex project."

According to Spoor, all major work should be done and the roads opened up at the beginning of November.
