The Brinehouse Safety Harbor Elevates the Art of Brine
A Great New Dining Spot on Main Street

It is too early in 2022 to make any declarations of best of the year but www.TampaBayFoodTours.com recent visits to www.thebrinehouse.com proved this new Safety Harbor spot will surely make the top ten list.
Located on Main Street, The Brinehouse is sister to The Dunedin Smokehouse. I see many similarities in the sauces and attention to details. Currently open for dinner and weekends only for lunch the menu offers creative appetizers, sandwiches, entrees, combo platters and a small children's menu.
We have visited on quiet weeknight and a busy weekend and both times really enjoyed the experience.

The interior has seating for around 25 and there is additional seating along Main Street. The take out register was quite busy on both nights.

On the first visit we tried the charred cauliflower florets. Normally tossed in lemon agave buffalo hot sauce and topped with gorgonzola crumbles. We asked for the sauce on the side no knowing the spice level. Also not shown is the gorgonzola crumbles which we added after it was charred. I am basically saying my photo does not do the dish justice. Reassembled it was delicious with plenty left for leftovers.

A maple bourbon brined chicken wings appetizer offers a choice of the delicious house made sauces. Choose from bourbon BBQ, cherry pepper BBQ, guava grapefruit BBQ, Bama white BBQ, or the lemon agave buffalo sauce.

Entrees come with a choice of two sides which were some of the highlights of the meal.
The side petite salad, a meal in itself chalked full fresh ingredients with house made dressing options.

Green goddess potato salad would be a hit at any table.

The 5 entrée options are also available via mixed grill platters where you can sample 2, 3 or 4 choices.
Shown below -
Angus beef tri-tip steak- coffee brine and finished on the grill, topped with wild mushroom ancho chili sauce. I generally do not order a tri-tip steak but the dish impressed, it was tender and very flavorful.
Duroc pork tenderloin - garlic cumin brine, drizzled with cherry pepper BBQ sauce.
The sides that I chose were garlicky broccolini with gorgonzola fondue and crispy parmesan brussels. Both were excellent!
I present the Texas 2 step mixed grille.

A 2nd combo of the tri-steak and plump, fresh blackened jumbo shrimp. The shrimp featured the Bama white bbq. We paired that sauce with other items and loved the flavor profile combinations.

Can't decide? Try The Brinehouse Feast with 4 proteins.

The bourbon BBQ chicken dinner with sidewinder fries was also top notch.

Adult beverages were a little limited but something for everyone.
Happy Hour 3-6:00 Tuesday - Sunday.

We dine in Safety Harbor often and I always joke the area has one of each cuisine represented. The variety includes Greek, Italian, Coastal, Seafood, Sushi, Spa food, Diner food, Floribbean, Pub food, Pizza, Southern, Bistro plus specialty desserts options. All are local and awesome. The Brinehouse will carve out a following and fit right in.
