Craigslist Deal of the Week: '64 Morris Minor Woody

'Bear in mind, this is not a show car. It's meant to be driven and I don't cry myself to sleep if it gets a ding or two.'

Craigslist is filled with gems for the dedicated treasure hunter. This 1964 Morris Minor Woody seems to be one of those unique discoveries that is fun just to read about, let alone buy.

The made-in-England Woody was advertised under "Cars and Trucks for Sale by Owner," in Safety Harbor, though the vehicle is next door in Clearwater, at Richards Avenue and Palmetto Street.

This Woody may look familiar to some locals, as it won first place in its class at the Safety Harbor British Car Show in October 2012.

Clearly, a lot of TLC and elbow grease have gone into preserving and enhancing this beauty, which comes with "vintage travel stickers, a pair of vintage wooden water skis, and a brand new custom surfboard that has never seen the water."

This showpiece also has a back story that the current owner was more than willing to shre when he posted this ad on Friday, April 12. He's asking $13,500 for the one-of-a-kind vehicle. Think it's already sold?

Here's what he has to say about this attention-getter.

This one has been slightly modified to resemble a California Woody and gets plenty of attention wherever it goes. It features mag wheels, dual side exhausts on both sides that provide that "throaty" sound, real wetsuit material for the upholstery, a four speed stick shift, and the original 1,000cc four cylinder motor that gets about 38 miles to the gallon and doesn't burn a drop of oil. Decked out with vintage travel stickers, a pair of vintage wooden water skis, and a brand new custom surfboard that has never seen the water, it is so much fun to drive and produces loads of smiles from pedestrians and other drivers!
