Do You Love Dr. Seuss? Then Head to Syd Entel Galleries for Its Latest Exhibit
Nearly 70 pieces of art, including some rare and private works, from the acclaimed children's author will be on display at the Main Street gallery this month.
Theodore Seuss Geisel, better known as Dr. Seuss, touched the lives of millions of kids with his awe-inspiring works that spanned a nearly seventy-year career.
Now, thanks to Safety Harbor's own Syd Entel Galleries, a vast collection of Seuss's art, including rare and private pieces, can be seen at the downtown gallery in an exhibit titled The Secrets of the Deep Exhibition.
"It's a mixture of some of his known work along with some rare items," gallery owner Susan Benjamin said. "Most are pieces that people have never seen before from Seuss's private collection."

The exhibit is being held in honor of a recently published book, Dr. Seuss’s Secrets of the Deep: The Lost, Forgotten, and Hidden Works of Theodor Seuss Geisel, which won an Independent Book Publisher's award in 2011.
Syd Entel has long enjoyed a good working relationship with the executors of Geisel's estate. The award-winning author and artist passed away in 1991, and his works have always been closely guarded.

"You don't see a lot of his merchandise around," Benjamin pointed out. "They're very restrictive of what is shown."
This exhibit will kick off with a reception on Saturday night from 5:00 - 8:00pm, featuring a presentation by noted Dr. Seuss expert Jeff Schuffman at 7:00. The show will run through October 27th and is open to the public.
