Don't Forget: School Is Out Until January 7

Pinellas County students have another few days of vacation left. Here's some ideas on how to keep the kids busy for the rest of winter break.

If some of you are wondering why your school age kid is sitting home playing video games today, it's because classes in Pinellas County don't start up again until Monday, January 7 following the winter break.

So are your kids going stir crazy, now that they've been out of school for a while? Are you going stir crazy?

  • Visit one of our great local parks.  
  • Buy them a treat at a local sweets store or ice cream shop. 
  • Visit a craft store to start a fun project.
  • Take them to the Safety Harbor Public Library, where there are lots of fun activities and great books, videos and records.
  • Walk around the marina pier and try to spot some manatees or dolphins
  • See what's going on at the new museum and cultural center
  • Hang out at home and let them teach you how to opearate the new electronic device you got as a holiday gift!
