Happy New Year, Harborites!
As terrific as 2012 was, we're looking forward an even more exciting 2013.

Whew, what a year!
From parks to pubs, new developments to dangerous plants, 2012 had a little bit of everything as far as news in Safety Harbor goes.
And to think we’ve only been around for four months!Â

Since the launch of Safety Harbor Patch in late August, we've have had the pleasure of covering a wide array of subjects, thanks to the endless supply of community events, engaging stories and interesting people in Safety Harbor.
Some of the more engaging topics we covered include the Firmenich property proposal, the new waterfront park plans, the race for the open city commission seat and a number of heartwarming tales of local schoolchildren helping others.

This list also has to include all the artists and writers we’ve interviewed, the incredible downtown events we attended, the new business openings we’ve tracked and the wonderful volunteers and organizations we've met that make this community so special.
And I would be remiss if I didn't include all the contributions - blog posts, photos, comments and critiques - the citizens of Safety Harbor have provided to help make this site a truly interactive and invaluable community resource.
As exciting as these past four months have been, I have a feeling the next 12 are going to be even more eventful.Â
In addition to following the Firmenich story and watching what happens with the waterfront park, we also look forward to covering the new-look city commission, the continued development of the downtown district and uncovering more hidden gems of the Harbor.
With that we say thanks to each and every one of you who helped to make 2012 such a successful debut year for Safety Harbor Patch.
Happy New Year, Harborites!
