It's a Busy Weekend in Safety Harbor

Healing in the Harbor and Truck N Play Day highlight another fun filled weekend in town.

If the calendar says it's April, there must be events going on in Safety Harbor.

This early spring weekend is no exception, with a pair of fun, family festivals taking place in town.

On Saturday the first annual Healing in the Harbor event is set for Saturday at the Gazebo in John Wilson Park.

The holistic health expo will feature speakers, vendors, merchandise and advice on how to achieve a healthy mind, body and soul though natural means.

The event runs from 10 a.m. until 4 p.m. at the downtown park.

Across town on the same day a pair of family friendly events - Touch a Truck and Play Day - have been combined into one super-sized fun fest: Truck N Play day.

There will be games, inflatable bounce houses, raffles and refreshments at the City Park party. But the highlight of the day will be the various vehicles the kids can climb aboard and pretend to drive.

Buses, fire trucks, big rigs and other machines will be spread throughout the park, and chances are there will be just as many big kids, a.k.a. adults, hopping aboard as little ones.

Other events on our calendar this weekend include a dog obedience class at Philippe Park, a POSH theater presentation at the library, and a reception and art exhibit by Marcia Treiger at Tricia's Tribute on Friday evening.

Enjoy the weekend, Harborites!
