Photo of the Day: Firmenich Proposal Protest Sign

This sign was put up near State Road 590 in protest of the Firmenich property proposal.

Avid Patcher Bobby Saltzman was kind enough to snap this shot of a sign in front of Barb Hugg's house on 14th Avenue South, just before it becomes SR 590. The sign is in response to the latest decision on the Firmenich Property proposal.

Hugg spoke out on the Firmenich issue at the latest Planning & Zoning Board meeting on Wednesday, questioning why the city continues to push the proposal through even though many residents have expressed their displeasure with the plan.

“We the people have spoken very loud and clear on our feelings yet…you people are really not listening to what we’re saying,” she told the board.

According to Saltzman, who stopped to see what was going on, a code enforcement officer stopped at the scene and asked that the sign be taken down.

As of Friday night after the Doggie Date Night event, the sign was still there.
