Safety Harbor Athletic Club Encourages People to 'Lace Up For Boston' Today

The local running group is supporting a movement to wear running shoes to work Monday to show solidarity and support for the city.

The Boston Marathon is a race that is near and dear to the heart of many members of the Safety Harbor Athletic Club.

Not only have many of the group's runners participated in the most historic marathon in the world, but at least one SHAC member was in the race last week when the tragedy struck.

As a way to show solidarity and support to all those who have been affected by last week's attack, the club is asking people to join the 'Lace Up For Boston' movement by wearing running shoes to work today.

According to the Lace Up For Boston website, the idea of the event is to show solidarity, love and support for the city of Boston by putting on a pair of running shoes.

The cause is also suggesting people donate to the American Red Cross and the One Fund Boston if they want to give financial assistance to the victims of the bombings.
