SHAMc Project: A Photographic Timeline

The Safety Harbor Art and Music Center is progressing nicely, as these photos can attest to.

Construction on the Safety Harbor Art and Music Center, or SHAMc, is progressing nicely, as these photos show.

The facility, located at the corner of 2nd Street North and 7th Avenue North, has gone from a rundown old house to a soon-to-be vibrant showpiece for local artists in a matter of months.

Since the groundbreaking in April, the property has been cleared of debris, the home has been gutted and repainted, the yard has been graded and the colorful fence pieces decorated by the community have been erected around the perimeter.

As Kiaralinda pointed out, "Even our trash removal sparkles. After all, we are artists!"

Check out these photos, many submitted by Kiaralinda's sister, Holly Apperson, and check back here for more updates on this terrific project.

Note: SHAMc will be hosting an event called the LuWOW! on November 17 at the Earthscapes Garden Room in Palm Harbor. There will be light food, a Polynesian revue, a silent auction and a ticketed bar. The cost is $25 in advance, $35 at the door, if available. Proceeds will benefit the SHAMc project. Tickets can be purchased online at safetyharborartandmusiccenter.com.
