“This in one of our two major events of the year, the other being Stepping Out With the Stars,” Safety Harbor Chamber of Commerce spokesperson Normajeanne Anderson said.
“It’s a major fundraiser for the chamber and it’s great exposure for the restaurants,” she added. “It attracts the ‘A’ list of Safety Harbor.”

This year there are 16 restaurants participating in the event, including local establishments like Beef O’ Brady’s, Nantucket Bucket, Bar Fly’s Saltwater Grill and Pick Your Poisoin Cupcake Café.
In addition to food, adult beverages (beers) will be presented by downtown bars Copperheads Tap House, Nolan’s Pub and Bar Fly.
The amount of participation in this year’s Taste event has sponsors excited.
“We are very excited to have some of Safety Harbor Chamber's returning favorites as well as a nice representation from some of our newer restaurants and pubs that have opened this past year,” committee chair Susan Petersen of Coffee News Pinellas said via email.
“The variety of exceptional food and beverage samplings will provide something for everyone to enjoy accompanied by a lively dance demonstration and musical performances,” she added.
“Our silent auction and the announcement of the coveted People's Choice Award will make for a truly delightful evening.”
Tickets for the event, which starts at 5:30 p.m., can be purchased for $25 in advance either at the Chamber of Commerce or via its website. Tickets will be available at the door the day of the event for $30.00.
Anderson encourages everyone to get their tickets ahead of time and to show up early so they don’t miss out on any of the festivities.
“Each restaurant is told to bring 400 samples, so it’s a lot of food,” she said. “Usually around 400 people attend. It’s a big event.”
