What to Know If You Go: St. Patrick's Day Weekend Events
It's a busy holiday weekend in the Harbor. Here's a handy guide to help you navigate the schedule of events.
There are a lot of big events going on in town this weekend - even more so than usual.
To help you navigate the field of festivities, we've compiled this handy list to guide you all the way from Third Friday to St. Patrick's Day Sunday.
3rd Friday
- What: March 2013 edition of the monthly downtown music and art festival
- When: Friday, Mar. 15, 6 p.m. - 10 p.m.
- Where: Downtown Main Street
- Details: This month's theme is, of course, St. Patrick's Day. In addition to the usual food and merchandise vendors, there will be music from the Electricians, games and activities and gobs and gobs of green. Proceeds will benefit the Rotary Club of Safety Harbor.
- Cost: Free to enter, vendor prices vary

St. Baldrick's Foundation fundraiser
- What: Street party/ fundraising benefit
- When: Saturday, Mar 16, 1 p.m. - 6 p.m.
- Where: The Chop Shop, 500 block of Main Street
- Details: The downtown salon is hosting the haircutting fundraiser to help raise money for the St. Baldrick's Foundation children's cancer charity. The street will be blocked off in front of the business, with games, activities, food, music and a car show taking place while patrons get their hair cut - and other salon services - for the charity.
- Cost: Patrons are encouraged to donate as much as possible towards the services. They are trying to raise $25,000 for the charity.

Nolan's Pub 5K Run and St. Paddy's Day party
- What: Road race in and around downtown Safety Harbor
- When: Sunday, Mar. 17 10 a.m - ???
- Where: Nolan's Pub, 230 Main St.
- Details: The first annual 5K road race will benefit the Fraternal Order of Police District 3. Participants will run a course that begins and ends at the pub, and then partake in a post-race St. Paddy's Day party that owner Craig Davide expects to last well into the night. Green beer, traditional Irish food and live music will highlight the daylong festivities.
- Cost: $30 to pre-register, $35 day of the race

Paint Your Heart Out Safety Harbor
- What: Neighborhood beautification project
- When: Saturday, Mar. 16 7:30 a.m. - noon
- Where: Volunteers will meet at First Baptist Church, 525 14th Ave. S.
- Details: Dozens of volunteers will help beautify four Safety Harbor homes, doing everything from painting the exterior to landscaping and minor repairs. Participants will meet at 7:30 a.m. at First Baptist Church to register, have a light breakfast and then help

Additionally there are a number of other events on the calendar, including the grand opening of Woodstock on 5th, an art show at Harborside Studios and St. Patty's Day parties at many downtown bars and restaurants.
