Woodstock on 5th On Schedule For Grand Opening This 3rd Friday

The owner of the entertainment themed eatery is putting the finishing touches on the place in preparation for its public debut on March 15 in Safety Harbor.

Stann Cherniack has been working feverishly to get his new restaurant, Woodstock on 5th, ready for its grand opening on March 15 in Safety Harbor.

But that doesn’t mean the longtime restaurateur is skimping or cutting corners when it comes to finishing the entertainment themed eatery; in fact, Cherniack has thoughtfully covered every detail, from the psychedelic light switch plates to the band named menu items.

“I’ve put a lot of time, and money, into this place,” the affable 65-year-old said this week. “I really hope it pays off.”

If businesses were successful based on ideas and execution alone, Woodstock on 5th would be a huge hit.

The '60s and 70s styled décor is captivating without being gimmicky; authentic Woodstock and hippie era memorabilia line the walls and windows, and a section honoring veterans is a classy and heartfelt addition.

And Cherniack says his entire staff is ready and willing to partake in the entertainment aspect of the place.

“All my employees have talent, and they will be performing during breakfast, lunch and dinner,” he said.

But a restaurant can’t survive on talent and tapestries alone; the food better be good enough to keep the people coming back for more.

Patch is happy to report that after being given a sneak peak at the ultra-secret menu, the food appears to be as creative and well thought out as the rest of the restaurant.

“None of my staff has seen this menu yet,” Cherniack confided during my visit. “But I want you to get a hint of what we are going to offer here.”

A full menu featuring breakfast lunch and dinner plus appetizers and desserts from Elizabeth’s Gourmet Delights should help make Woodstock on 5th an anytime eatery.

Diners can choose from unique cuts of steak, vegetarian fare and rotating weekly specials, all reasonably priced and, Cherniack promises, hearty portions.

Stann’s longtime career in the restaurant business helped him hone the menu to the point where he believes patrons will be coming in for the food as much as the entertainment.

“The things that are going to sell us are the quality of the food and the excellent service,” he said. “I’ve got a great chef and a terrific staff. I really lucked out.”
