1 Killed, Three Injured in Accident Near Sarasota Kennel Club
A motorist lost control of a car and struck a Lincoln SUV driven by a Sarasota woman.
One person was killed and three others injured in a crash near Sarasota Kennel Club on Sunday night.
The three people who were injured are identified as:
- Patricia Bailey, 78, Sarasota, who was driving;
- Kaye Swan, 70, Sarasota, a backseat passenger;
- Kenneth Davidson, 44, Sarasota, front-seat passenger.
Davidson was taken to Blake Medical Center as a trauma alert. Bailey and Swan were taken to Sarasota Memorial with injuries.

Sarasota Police waited to identify the late driver, until next of kin are notified.
Investigators say that the unidentified driver apparently lost control of a four-door car just after it crossed railroad tracks while headed west on University Parkway toward DeSoto Road at around 6:50 p.m.

The driver crossed into a median, hit a tree, then hit a Lincoln SUV with three people inside, Sarasota Police spokesperson Genevieve Judge said.
The intersection was shut down for several hours following the crash.
