15-Year-Old Sarasota Boy Struck By Car

A 15-year-old Sarasota boy was taken to Sarasota Memorial Hospital Friday with serious injuries after being struck by a car.

SARASOTA, FL — A 15-year-old Sarasota boy was taken to Sarasota Memorial Hospital Friday with serious injuries after being struck by a car. The incident occurred at Gantt Road near Cedar Point Boulevard around 7 a.m., according to the Florida Highway Patrol.

The teenager was charged with failing to yield to traffic after being struck by the Lincoln Continental. He was attempting to cross the street at the time.

Robert Gerald Lane, the 92-year-old driver of the Lincoln, was not charged.
