2 Children Critical After Sarasota Crash
A Tuesday morning crash on Interstate 75 has left two girls, ages 3 and 4, in critical condition.

SARASOTA, FL — A 24-year-old Sarasota man was cited following an early Tuesday morning crash on Interstate 75 that left two children in his vehicle critically injured.
According to the Florida Highway Patrol, Raul Gonzalez was heading south on I-75 around 7:51 a.m. June 6. Gonzalez was on the ramp to Fruitville Road when troopers say he failed to negotiate a curve, causing his Mercury C280 to hydroplane.
Gonzalez, a highway patrol report said, overcorrected, ran off the road and struck a tree.

Two children in Gonzalez’s vehicle were critically injured, the report said. The children, both girls, are ages 3 and 4.
Gonzalez was cited for driving too fast for conditions.

Gonzalez also suffered minor injuries in the crash, the report noted.
