2 Killed In I-75 Crash With DUI Driver: FL Highway Patrol
An Ohio man is accused of driving under the influence in an I-75 crash that killed two near Sarasota, Florida Highway Patrol said.
SARASOTA, FL — An Ohio man suspected of driving under the influence was arrested after a Sunday afternoon crash on Interstate 75 near Sarasota in which two people died, the Florida Highway Patrol said in a news release.
Fred Donalson, 48, was arrested at the crash site and charged with DUI manslaughter.
He was driving a Toyota Camry north on I-75, near mile marker 203, around 3:40 p.m.

The victims were heading north at the same time in a Nissan Pathfinder when Donalson hit their SUV, state police said.
The SUV drove off the road after the crash and hit a tree.

The driver, a 69-year-old Pensacola man, and his passenger, a woman who hasn’t been identified yet, were pronounced dead at the scene, troopers said.
Donalson was uninjured in the crash.
