2 Patrol Cars Crash While Chasing Reckless Driver In Sarasota Area: Police
One of the patrol cars that crashed overturned while chasing a reckless driver from North Porto into Sarasota, police said.

SARASOTA, FL — Two patrol cars crashed, one flipping over, while chasing a reckless driver Tuesday night, North Port police wrote in a social media post.
Officers tried to stop the driver near Eager Street around 9 p.m. Despite their lights and sirens being on, the driver refused to stop and sped into the Venice area, police said.
The chase ultimately ended in Sarasota.

“The officers involved in the crash are banged up but are doing okay,” police said. “We are fortunate that no one was seriously injured.”
The driver, 25-year-old Colton Corpus was arrested and charged with driving under the influence, fleeing/eluding at a high rate of speed, possession of a weapon by a convicted felon, reckless driving, driving with a suspended license, failure to have insurance and refusing to submit to a DUI test, police said.
