2017 Tax Day Freebies, Discounts In The Tampa Bay Area

Businesses are giving away everything from beer to plane tickets in honor of Tax Day 2017.

SARASOTA, FL -- Businesses throughout the Tampa Bay area and beyond are rewarding people for taking the time to do their taxes. From free beers and massages to airline ticket offers, here are some of the best places to look for a return on the investment of time spent filing taxes. All deals are available only on Tuesday, April 18, unless otherwise noted. Keep in mind, some stores within chains may not participate, so be sure to ask in advance.

Here are some of the places to check out for freebies, discounts and offers:

  • Bob Evans offers 30 percent off the bill, with this coupon; it applies to dine-in and carryout orders.
  • Boston Market is running a $10.40 special for a half chicken, two sides, cornbread, fountain drink and cookie. No coupon needed.
  • Firehouse Subs will offer a free medium sub to customers who buy a medium/large sub, chips and drink. The offer runs from April 18 to April 20 with this coupon.
  • Great American Cookies is giving a free cookie to anyone who wants one on Tax Day.
  • Jet Blue is giving away plane tickets to people who owe money to the IRS and are not eligible for a return. Fill out an online form to enter. The winners will be selected through a random drawing on April 25.
  • Office Depot will shred up to 5 pounds of documents for people free of charge until April 29, with coupon.
  • P.F. Chang's invites customers to take 20 percent off takeout orders online with the code TAXDAY.
  • Planet Fitness is giving away hydromassages to members and nonmembers until April 22, with coupon.
  • Sonic is running a special for half-price cheeseburgers.
  • Staples will shred up to 2 pounds of documents for free until April 22. Use in-store coupon code 23773.
  • World of Beer is giving away a free draught or $5 off the check to those at least 21 years old.
