30-Year-Old Victim Shot Multiple Times
The shooting occurred after noon Saturday on Pershing Avenue in Sarasota.
Sarasota Police are investigating the shooting Saturday of a 30-year-old man, in the 2500 block of Pershing Avenue.
Wilfredo Pellot Jr. suffered multiple gunshot wounds, and was transported by a private vehicle to Sarasota Memorial Hospital.
Police drove to the scene shortly before 12:30 p.m. Saturday, March 23, after receiving multiple calls about shots fired. Officers arrived within two minutes of the calls to 911, but the victim already had been taken to the hospital.

Pellot was treated at Sarasota Memorial Hospital and then transported to Blake Trauma Center for additional treatment. The injuries are not believed to be life threatening.
