FLORIDA — Walmart will remodel more than 650 stores across the U.S., including 34 stores in Florida this year, according to a news release from the company.

The company will also build new Neighborhood Market stores in Milton and Pace. Each store, scheduled to open later this year, will create about 100 new jobs.

This unveiling of these plans comes after the chain already invested more than $1.6 billion in store upgrades over the past five years.

"Our stores often serve as the heartbeat of the communities we operate in, and these remodels are a testament to our dedication to enhancing that role,” Nick Berkeley, Walmart senior vice president for the Southeast Business Unit, said. “By investing in our stores and associates, we are not only improving the shopping experience but also reinforcing our commitment to being a vital part of the community’s fabric, helping to build a brighter future for all.”

Remodeled stores will boast a new look, including “big, bold signage” and improved in-store displays, Walmart said.
