43 New Deaths Reported In Florida's Coronavirus Outbreak
Sixteen of Florida's 67 counties reported a total of 43 more deaths from the coronavirus Tuesday over the previous 24-hour period.
TALLAHASSEE, FL — Sixteen of Florida's 67 counties reported a total of 43 more deaths from the coronavirus Tuesday over the previous 24-hour period.
The total number of deaths reported in the state from the virus rose to 1,779 Tuesday, up from 1,735 a day earlier.
Florida health officials also reported the total number of coronavirus cases in the state had risen to 41,923, an increase of 941 new cases during the previous 24-hour period. Some 58 percent of the state's total cases were in Palm Beach, Broward and Miami-Dade counties.

Miami-Dade reported 15 news deaths. Palm Beach County, which partially reopened Monday, reported seven new deaths.
Collier County reported four new deaths. Hillsborough County reported three more deaths. Polk County reported two more deaths as did Charlotte County and Osceola County.

Desoto County reported one new death as did Clay County, Escambia County, Indian River CountyCounty, Pinellas County, St. Lucie County, Sumter County and Volusia County.
The state had a 7.2 positive test rate for the virus out of 580,316 tests that had been administered as of Tuesday. The number of hospitalizations increased in Florida to 7,418 from 7,224 a day earlier.
Miami-Dade reported 14,385 confirmed cases as of Tuesday. Nearby Broward County, which includes Fort Lauderdale, reported 5,826 cases. Palm Beach County, which includes West Palm Beach, reported 4,018 cases.
Hillsborough County, which includes Tampa, reported 1,473 cases as of Tuesday. Orange County, which includes Orlando, reported 1,537 cases.
