5 Things: Beach sign, Biz of Art, 'Dear World' and more

1. Tomorrow will be the first day you can take your picture with the new that the county approved in December. The sign promotes Siesta Beach as the nation's No. 1 Beach. The sign will be unveiled at 10 a.m. at 948 Beach Road.

2. Looking for something to switch up your Tuesday night? Cult classic Broadway play Dear World continues tonight at . Patch Blogger Will Willoughby writes his take on the production and tells you what you need to know before seeing the show. Tickets cost $25 and the show starts at 8 p.m.

3. Ringling College's madeby gallery will feature its first-ever student art show and sale Thursday at 5:30 p.m. The gallery has always sold student art, but this is the first show of student art, and was organized by a student.

Prospective college students and parents of such students will have a chance to learn about financial aid opportunities and programs through informative sessions set up by the University of South Florida Sarasota-Manatee this week. Whether it's the FAFSA, scholarship opportunities or questions about loans, the program aims to answer all questions. 

5. Learn about the business of the arts in Sarasota today. The Sarasota County Civic League is hosting "Business of the Arts Forum" at at 11:30 a.m. for $22.  The panel will explore new trends in the field and the economic affect of arts on the area. Guests include Christine Jennings, executive director of ; Heidi Kurpiela, arts editor of the Observer Group; Dwight Currie, director of programming and collections at the ; Mark Famiglio of the ; and Gina Ribeiro, manager of creative projects.
